I'm a Master of Wine student, and have a community of people who support me on the journey, partly funded by my subscription newsletter
Support my long, and slow MW Journey
My Wine Club Newsletter is a chance for me to elaborate on bite size discussions and flippant, provocative remarks I make elsewhere, directly with you.
Mostly you'll be getting the inside scoop on my Master of Wine journey, and be supporting me along the way.
The cost of subscribing is as little as £20 per year, but most people pay £5 per month. Every penny goes towards helping me fund the MW Studies.
The important thing to mention, that as well as asking people to help me to fund my Master of Wine studies, I do actually work in the Business of Flogging Booze.
I'm the full time Brand Ambassador for Flint Vineyard, one of the best producers of premium English still wines. I'm involved in tastings all over the country, new product development and blending, trade and wholesale sales, as well social media, marketing and logistics, and any other things that pop up along the way. For their own benefit, they don't let me get over-involved with making the wine, but I have been in the winery for a few harvests.
I spent aaaaages working for East Anglian wine merchant and brewer / distiller, Adnams. I put it that way around because I was Buyer, Brand Manager and consultant specifically for their retail wine bit, a small part of their total business. I worked with their heaf of retail and head of wine on evolving their wine retail culture, education, and a bit of sales and marketing thrown in for good measure. They seemed to like having me around.
I consult on buying for, and have a tiny stake in Orchard-Lisle Wines, a composite wine wholesaler to the on-trade in Suffolk. First job is to build them a website.
Other than that, I used to host wine tastings here and there. But I've mostly stopped all that in favour of studying for the MW and enjoying life on the farm at Flint.
